UMW Book Club

As part of our support of other women we have a book club that meets every other month to discuss a current book. Group members choose books and discussion leaders rotate among group members.

United Methodist Women

Leechburg United Methodist Women care about the people in our congregation, our town, our country and our WORLD.

Through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), relief supply kits provide care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. With donations from our congregation, we compile and then donate school kits, sewing kits, birthing kits, and cleaning buckets.

School Kits may be the only educational resources children have in countries that have inadequate school buildings and materials. Sewing kits foster independence, providing women with the materials necessary to make clothing in their own size and in the style of their culture. Birthing kits provide basic supplies to women who often give birth on a dirt floor. Cleaning buckets provide the supplies that enable people to begin the overwhelming job of cleaning up after a flood or hurricane.

We also support other organizations such as the local Habitat for Humanity, HAVIN, Ruth M Smith home, Project Happy Feet, and Blue Bird Mission.

For our own congregation, we have a visitation team that visits those in nursing homes and personal care homes as well as the home bound.

UMW meets 4 times per year (April, June, August and October), but we are active all year round. All women of the church are encouraged to join.
